Server Management & Security

Hostingent will perform on every new server setup an extensive Audit and Security implementation that consists of more then 35 different procedures. This can consist of Security patches, Lockdown of services, Firewall implementation, DDoS protection and much more.

  Hands on Approach

  As soon our uptime monitors detect a server malfunction, an on-site tech is dispatched to assess the issue at hand. Should a server crash for any reason we can move the data to a spare server almost immediately.

  Server Monitoring

  Servers are monitored 24/7/365 at an interval of 1 minute between each probe.

  Kernel & OS Updates

  We perform Kernel & OS Updates on all Fully Managed servers and will constantly keep your server up-to-date, which is essential for security.

  Spam Filtering

  Our Spam Filtering service is powered by an advanced email filtering application, and is both a great way to increase productivity, and decrease the amount of Trojan and Virus threats that enter your corporate environment.

  Server Side Virus Scanning

  An anti-virus solution is one of the most critical, and fundamental ways to avoid having your dedicated server infected and compromised by malicious code. Server Side Virus Scanning is available for Linux dedicated servers as an option to you.

  Security Audit

  A monthly security audit is performed free of charge. The Security Audit will be conducted on request by our experienced team of administrators, and will cover the bulk of the known security exploits on your managed server.

  Software Firewall

  Our Software Firewall Protection for managed dedicated servers is simply based on IP tables, and can be configured to meet any level of security you require. We recommend software firewalls if you are expecting low-levels of traffic, and simply need a bit of added security for your Managed Dedicated Server.

What is a Managed Dedicated Server?

A Managed dedicated server is a service that includes the hardware, software, and ongoing upkeep of a dedicated server. This allows for not only more productivity, but eases your mind about a multitude of other issues, sometimes unforeseen by the Client or the developers working on functions of the dedicated hosting server. Security is a very large factor in choosing not only a Managed dedicated hosting company, but also in choosing a Managed dedicated server.

How is your Server Management different?

We are one of the very few truly fully Managed providers in the industry that don't charge extra for any server Management requests or third-party application installs.

How do you handle a Server/Hardware problem?

As soon our uptime monitors detect a server malfunction, an on-site tech is dispatched to assess the issue at hand. Should a server crash for any reason we can move the data to a spare server almost immediately. Replacement of the hardware or any defective component will not exceed 2 hours.

What Port speed will my Server be on?

We have dedicated 100Mbps from the servers to the local rack switch and gigabit uplink between the rack switches and distribution switches.

What Network & Hardware Components do you use?

We have access to a large state-of-the-art facility rack space using redundant BGP bandwidth and redundant power grid. All servers and equipment is protected by multi-ton UPS units and diesel power generators should there be a need. We also only deploy production server-grade equipment and only provision servers that have passed strong validation. The most common brands of servers we have are HP, DELL and IBM. On the Network side we serve data using Cisco routers and switches.
